Wordless{ish} Wednesday – There is a bear on the island

Can you imagine? A bear on our little island in the tropics?

No, I’m not talking about the Malayan sun bears (Ursus malayanus), they are living on the other side of the ocean.

And don’t mean the Gummy Bear colony living in the kitchen either.

The bear I’m talking about has a green tail and

snuggles up to me all the time,

oops.

I was told it is related to the creature that is living in the bathroom.

That’s what ‘Timan’ says.

And ‘Timan’ is right. Always. **growl**

Wordless{ish} Wednesday – Regatta 2011: the toddler version

What’s the most important thing on events like the Regatta in Paradise?

Checking out the chicks with Daddy

and playing on the big-kid-stuff:

Climbing up

can be pretty tough when you are little

and goes much easier

with the helping hand of a girl.

Going down is another story.

but ‘Timan’ loved it anyway.

And he’s still very much into helping with the beach erosion,

two hands full of sand at the time.

Wordless{ish} Wednesday – I play hide and seek and get a whole bus

I’m sitting in the kitchen, sipping on my morning-cup-of-tea, completely in peace, but all of a sudden I hear … nothing.

No sounds coming from the direction where ‘Timan’ is supposed to be … this is always bad. Always, with no exception. So I got just a tiny little bit worried.

I called him, but no answer. Not a sound.

I had to investigate.

This time however it wasn’t bad, nothing to worry about and the tot was cracking up and thought it was absolutely funny that I found him.

Sitting in the wardrobe, that’s the new place to be.

The day went on and guess what, the little one disappeared once more.

Well, Mommy is clever and I played along. I loudly checked all the other possible hiding places and ‘found’ him in the wardrobe.

But … the Mister was busy:

My happy ‘I found you’ was totally ignored.

Obviously I was not so happy anymore about this hide and seek game and reminded him to leave Mommy’s wallet in her handbag and the later closed and where he had found it.

The day went on and guess what, the little one disappeared once more.

This time I went straight to his new place to hang out.

And what did I see?

‘Timan’ was ecstatic about his discovery. And he said:

‘Is for ‘Timan’, I put in piggy bank and I buy bus for you to go to town’.

Wordless{ish} Wednesday – Uninvited guests show up for a sleep over

We have plenty of space, come all in, it’s yours anyway, my creeping and crawling friends.

***

Yes! It’s raining these days. It’s raining almost every day, not the whole day long but off and on for hours. On the good side, the quality of the tap water is improving, but …

When it’s raining, it’s pouring. You know, I’m talking about tropical showers, sheets of water falling from the sky and when you happen to be without shelter, you’re soaked to the bone. You’re still warm and reasonable comfy, but there is not a centimeter of dry skin on your body.

Well, I think not only humans don’t necessarily like it when they are getting soaked, I know for a fact that not only humans don’t like this feeling. Gazillion of others feel the same. And all of a sudden they all seek refuge in our house.

And all of them, I’m serious now, ALL OF THEM I hate from the bottom of my heart.

Starting with the little black ones. A real nuisance, because they are everywhere, show up in billions and after you got rid of them, there are more showing up.

And their little cousins, they always get into the water kettle and therefore into my tea or coffee. Yuck.

And the ones with the hairy legs, looking down at you from the top of the window.

And their sisters, really lovely when you find them taking a shower with you.

There are the ones with ‘thousand legs’, but no problem, they are harmless.

However to top it off: The ones with ‘hundred legs’:

Pretty cute to look at as babies with their blue head and legs,

but they are the ones that will get you a free ride to the hospital if they bite you in your butt in the middle of the night while you’re peacefully sleeping in your bed (as happened to the Hubs).

Oh, how much I LOVE the tropics after days of rainfall, with all its lovely creeping and crawling inhabitants.
