My Sweet Tooth

I am really not the girl who spends hours in the kitchen, it’s just not possible with ‘Timan’ around. So whatever I do it has to be quick or has to cook or bake on its own or get prepared by somebody else (the Hubs, members of the extended family, a take out, you name it).

But I bake. Because I really like to do it, because I definitely have a sweet tooth and because I like to try out things and modify them.

However I have a hard stand in our little family. The Hubs is spoiled rotten by the MIL (he’s the only son, LOL) who is producing all these creole deserts that are really a tidbit and make my mouth water all the time. And ‘Timan’ doesn’t like sweets. No kidding, he’s a three-year old who likes neither chocolate nor ice cream nor cakes. He’s our little savory guy. And therefore perfect for giving a hand in the kitchen, because he’s never tempted to lick the mixing bowl.

But still, my baking is totally a family business: ‘Timan’ is my right hand in the kitchen and the Hubs is the guinea pig that has to taste the outcome, but with him the bar is set pretty high.

Here you find the sweetness I picked up over the years, modified to my liking (made them *ahem* healthier):

  1. I’m the same way. Love to bake but I don’t care for cooking much. I am going to try out the mango cake and carrot muffins!!! Thanks for sharing!!

  2. I wish I could learn to bake :). I love eating baked goodies but don’t have the talent for baking. Or maybe, it’s because I haven’t tried it yet.

    • It’s easy, you just have to give it a try. Some things will turn out great. YEAH. And then you’ll get super confident and you’ll start to experiment. And some will be, hmmm, let’s say not so great, you will see. ;-)
